SOUL SURFING MAUI instructors are highly skilled at teaching students of all ages and pride themselves in having a special Knack for putting student worries to ease. Owner/Head Coach Brian DeCook says: “Helping people relax and have fun as they learn is our key secret to success!” Brian will also advise in setting the correct start time to coincide with the best wave conditions of your chosen day.

Surf lessons take place away from the crowds at the most beautiful surfing spots on Maui. All necessary surf gear including surfboards, rash guards and booties will be provided for your lesson. At the beginning of class you will learn about water safety, wave etiquette and reef awareness. Coaches enter the water with you side-by-side and instruct with a “Hands-On” style of instruction that makes learning to surf fun and easy even for first timers. Students learn the most important fundamentals such as paddling, popping-up, stance, style, smooth turning and how to dismount safely back down to a seated position at rides end. This is the frame work that sets the tone for your entire experience and you will find this instruction pays off BIG TIME. With a little help picking out the right waves and occasional push-in’s from your coach, you will be up and surfing in no time. This is surfing made easy folks!
